Thurgood Marshall Elementary School (PS 103) Historic Stabilization

SP Arch Inc. performed an existing conditions inspection to determine the best solution to stabilize and weatherize the dormant building. The team provided construction documents detailing how to structurally stabilize the building while protecting it from continued deterioration. The final report included an assessment of the current vegetation and elements, which contribute to the structural decline. Some of the issues addressed included patching the roof, replacing portions of the framing, removing overgrown vines which are penetrating the walls and patching and sealing any wall opening to prevent further water infiltration.
