BWI Observation Gallery

SP Arch Inc. provided repair details for the glazing at the observation gallery area of BWI Airport. Areas of interest were located across the header of the sloped glazing over the space frame jam and the horizontal flashing at the corner of the vertical glazing. Bid drawings were prepared and construction administration services were provided.

BWI Airport Tower Tile Replacement

SP Arch provided conditions assessments, studies and design for multiple task orders including design to waterproof and replace the tiles of 7 towers throughout the airport and parking garage.

BWI Restroom Modernization

SP Arch Inc. was requested by Michael Baker Jr. Intl. to conduct a condition assessment of 63 exiting restrooms throughout the BWI Thurgood Marshall International Airport and to develop a prototype restroom design. The initial phase included conducting site investigations to update floor plans, ADA compliance assessment, conditions assessment, life safety assessment, and plumbing fixture code analysis.

The subsequent phase included existing conditions assessment matrix and report, existing floor plan exhibits for each restroom, development for one generic prototype based upon a single typical restrooms layout, development of three prototype options based on low, medium and high alternatives, and evaluation of existing 63 restrooms and adjoining spaces for possible alternate configurations.
